Party Poker with tens of thousands of players playing at any time is probably the leading on-line poker room. The Party Poker room offers up the following poker games: Texas Hold'em, Omaha Hi, Omaha 8 or Better, Seven Card Stud, and Seven Card Stud 8 or Better. Both ring games and tournaments in limit, pot limit and no-limit formats are available. However, it is tournament play that sets Party Poker in a different league. Party Poker has hosted several guaranteed Million Dollar online tournaments, and they host the Party Poker Million, a World Poker Tour event. This tournament starts off with online satellite games (with an entry fee of $32) and ends up in face-to-face poker action aboard a luxury cruise ship sailing to Mexico. The prize pool is $7,000,000 which 180 places share (places 1 to 9 share $4,360,000 and places 10 to 180 share $2,430,00). While the huge feature tournaments at Party Poker attract the most attention they also offer a series of more modest tournaments. They host Sit and Go tournaments at single and multi-tables, for those players who don't want to wait for a posted tournament starting time. They also have STEP tournaments. STEP tournaments are five level events (for ten or twenty players) where the players start at a level one tournament (paying a low $12 in fees) those players winning the level one tournament go on to tournament two and so on until the fifth and final STEP level is reached. The top four players at the fifth tournament table split the pot (the pot is $10,000 for the 10 player series and $20,000 for the 20 player series). Party Poker offers two types of bonuses; one for new players and another for players who play regularly. For first time players who make a modest deposit, the room will award a $25 bonus. For any first time player who makes a larger deposit, the room will give a 20% deposit bonus (maximum $100) in bonus money. New tournament players are given a more appropriate bonus, a free entry into their World Poker Tournament event, the Party Poker Million. Regular Party Poker players can earn Party Points for simply spending time at the real money tables. These Party Points can be redeemed for a variety of items.
